The Ossington, Newark - Lantern Bracket Repair

Following accidental damage, the lantern and its supporting scroll bracketry had been twisted and damaged.

Following a survey, our team carefully removed the lantern and supporting scroll bracketry.

Within the workshop, we straightened the lantern and bracketry, introducing new iron where required to enable the lantern to be re-attached correctly. A number of previous poor weld repairs were made good at the same time.

We forged a new matching scroll to replace a missing one and we straightened the remaining ironwork as far as possible, then secured the repaired lantern and scrollwork.

The original lantern and scroll bracket had been damaged by a vehicle and temporarily tied up to make safe.
